Tanța

Bella is the luckiest little dog! Her former owner wanted to “amputate” her leg with an axe, but we managed to save her. She has a missing limb, amputated following a professional surgical procedure performed by the doctors at Speranța.

Sasha

At our shelter lives Sasha, a German Shepherd who, unfortunately, hasn’t had much luck finding a forever home. She’s not the friendliest dog, and many people pass her by without giving her a real chance.

Sana the Golden

Pitica

Pitica is a gentle old lady, quiet and with a gaze that says it all: “I’ve seen a lot, but I still hope.” Though the years have left their mark on her body, her soul remains warm and grateful. She lives at Adăpostul Speranța, where she is safe, but she dreams of more: someone to love her from afar and ensure her a dignified old age.

Barika

She’s almost 13 years old, with gentle eyes that speak louder than words and a heart as big as a lifetime. Barika doesn’t chase balls anymore, but she always comes running for a little bit of love.

Maimuța

In the urban jungle lives a rare creature: our little Monkey! She doesn’t swing from tree to tree, but she jumps straight into your bed, your arms, and your heart. White with yellow fur, fluffy, and with the attitude of a pack queen — she’s closer to a jungle ruler than a regular monkey.

Panseluța

Panseluța is a gentle, shy little dog currently cared for at the Speranța Shelter. She was rescued from a difficult situation, and while she is now safe, she still longs for love and kindness.

Zuzi

A true senior lady, with the most charming ears — elegant, dainty, as if made for a better life.

Cara is almost 12 years old.
She’s still doing well, walking proudly through the shelter, but the years are catching up with her.

Matilda

Matilda is a mythical creature. Half small dog with short hair, half brown bear with curly fur. She’s over 8 years old and doesn’t care much for people—but she absolutely adores other dogs. Maybe she reminds you of someone… maybe even yourself. Maybe the two of you would get along just fine, a little grumpy, spending your days among (other) dogs.

Mama

She came to us from the hellish public shelter in Târgu Jiu – scared, exhausted, but with incredible strength: she had just given birth to her 8 newborn puppies. We rescued her and her babies, offering them a safe place to grow, be cared for, and prepared for a better life.

Mary

This is Mary. She’s 6 years old with fur as black as midnight, but a heart as bright as a summer day. She’s a little shy at first, but if you give her time, you’ll find a sweet, gentle companion who can melt your heart with just one look.

Fundiță

Her name is Fundiță. She’s 14 years old and has a soft gaze that still longs for a bit of affection and a touch of luck. She’s one of our beloved grandmas at the shelter — quiet, gentle, slow in her steps, but with a big heart.

Viva

I’m Viva, and I’m that ultimate guard dog. If only I had a yard, I’d bark at thieves with every last drop of… anything. But here in the shelter, all I can protect is my kennel.

Dana

This is Dana. She’s 6 years old, with a curious look and a heart that still dares to hope.
She’s gentle, quiet, and always watching the world around her — just in case someone might see her.

Alma

Alma lived her life on a chain, in Chiajna. When the Animal Police visited her owner, he chose to get rid of her rather than sterilize her or allow her to live unchained.

Beatrice is 12 years old, but she is still a child at heart. It is said that any dog that didn’t have a chance to love a family remains a puppy forever. Beatrice has stayed for 10 years on the streets and in shelters, always alone. Beatrice has been looking for a family to pour all the unending love she has to offer.

Corbuța

The shepherd is a well-behaved dog and will sit in any position and do any operation as long as you promise to give her a gentle petting while you take care of her. She is super ready for adoption and would be a great dog for any home and family.

Cocuța

Cocuta feels she needs people, but is also afraid of them. She’s very gentle and friendly with acquaintances, but fearful of strangers. Her eyes and her whole body say to any passer-by, “Come here and give me that love!”, but when the person approaches, Cocuta crawls into the henhouse and looks at him like this. Without a sound, she just stares at him and thinks what if. What if there was more courage in the world. For her, more courage to approach people. For people, more courage to come closer to her for good and give her, in their family, that trust and warmth that Cocuta needs so much.

Iulica

Iulica is an 11 year old female who has been a cheerful puppy ever since we have known her. Always upbeat and energetic, always eager to play and share, she is a never-ending source of good humor, relaxation and fun. When she does manage to stop and hold on to some of that energy, she’s also very affectionate and clingy.

I’m Missy and I have a funny face.

Maia

She’s 9 years old, but her energy could fool anyone. Maia is sociable, affectionate, and always ready to shower you with kisses in exchange for a gentle touch.

Eva

Eva is 8 years old. She is very well-behaved and loving. Eva is the mommy heroine who ended up with 8 puppies in the shelter, having rescued each one when someone in a backyard dumped them all in a field, far from where they had been born.

Mioara

This little beauty used to roam the streets of a village near Bucharest. Although she wasn’t bothering anyone, someone decided she was a problem — probably just because she was too big. People started chasing her away, throwing stones, and threatening her every day. There was no going back.

Țuța

That’s how Țuța is when she wants to break someone’s heart. Unfortunately, she has quite a few visitors at the shelter lately, so from her perspective, few hearts to break.

Delia

Delia is an elderly, gentle, and calm little dog. She doesn’t ask much from life anymore – just peace, care, and a bit of love.

Venus

We wish you a day like Venus’s day today. Venus had a good day. She ran, she sunbathed, she played in the water, she frolicked with dog friends and human friends, and the tongue sticking out of an elbow in the photo shows you, we think, that she experienced it all to the fullest.

Rita

Is it Dalmatian? Is it a Carpathian shepherd? Maybe a collie? Nah. It’s Rita.
And she is, of course, a textbook maid: unique, beautiful, special, amazingly intelligent and expressive.

Gina

Gina isn’t just any dog. She’s stunning — with the look of a she-wolf and a coat in shades of metallic gray that would make any designer jealous.

Leona

Leona, a slightly larger clump, like a ball of love and devotion.

Greta Zam

Hot hot, My Dear! Greta often thinks about that. No, not that Greta, but our Greta in the shelter, and not the global heat, but this more vulgar, everyday heat.

Florica

Fetița is a 11 year old spayed female perfect for any family, no matter what type of home you’d like to share with her.

Aka

I’m Aka and life hasn’t been kind to me and neither have the people in it. I’m 12 and I’ve never loved anyone. I’m withdrawn and scared, and I carry the trauma of 10 lifetimes, not one. I don’t need to go into them right now, especially since, I don’t know if you know, traumatized souls have great trouble being communicative and direct. How could they not, when so many people have hurt them?
