This little beauty used to roam the streets of a village near Bucharest. Although she wasn’t bothering anyone, someone decided she was a problem — probably just because she was too big. People started chasing her away, throwing stones, and threatening her every day. There was no going back.

Someone with a kind heart called us, and the poor girl ended up in our shelter.
Here, her life changed completely: now she’s a true star — happy, loved, and spoiled.

She’s a bit greedy, and when you walk past her, she hops like a little bunny, hoping for a cuddle or a treat.

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Mioara to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
