Cocuta feels she needs people, but is also afraid of them. She’s very gentle and friendly with acquaintances, but fearful of strangers. Her eyes and her whole body say to any passer-by, “Come here and give me that love!”, but when the person approaches, Cocuta crawls into the henhouse and looks at him like this. Without a sound, she just stares at him and thinks what if. What if there was more courage in the world. For her, more courage to approach people. For people, more courage to come closer to her for good and give her, in their family, that trust and warmth that Cocuta needs so much.

I’m Mateo and I’m always playing coy, until I get to the point where I trust others, at which point I climb right into their heads. Sometimes literally.
Fox
Fox is the loudest dog in the shelter, although he is, to be honest, a bit of a non-dog. In the sense that 99% of the dogs we know love being around people and interacting with them. But Fox is special, he’s not in the 99%. Fox genuinely and unabashedly loathes people other than those who feed and care for him on a daily basis, and he signals this with intense and aggressive barking.
Iulica
Iulica is an 11 year old female who has been a cheerful puppy ever since we have known her. Always upbeat and energetic, always eager to play and share, she is a never-ending source of good humor, relaxation and fun. When she does manage to stop and hold on to some of that energy, she’s also very affectionate and clingy.
Tinu
Tinu is a senior dog, over 14 years old, a kind and peaceful old dog, who has been living in the Speranța Shelter for many years. Is it Dalmatian? Is it a Carpathian shepherd? Maybe a collie? Nah. It’s Rita.
