Fox is the loudest dog in the shelter, although he is, to be honest, a bit of a non-dog. In the sense that 99% of the dogs we know love being around people and interacting with them. But Fox is special, he’s not in the 99%. Fox genuinely and unabashedly loathes people other than those who feed and care for him on a daily basis, and he signals this with intense and aggressive barking.

And it’s okay, Fox, it’s okay to be you. There is no normal and abnormal, really. These are just some labeling by society. There are different behaviours, although sometimes some are in the majority. But the majority doesn’t impose normality, because normal is simply being the way you are and the way you want to be. Being like Fox, that is.

Why dogs like Fox need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Fox to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
