Tinu's story

Adopt Tinu, a gentle old dog in need of support.

Tinu is a senior dog, over 14 years old, a kind and peaceful old dog, who has been living in the Speranța Shelter for many years. We haven’t given up hope that we will find him a family, but until then, his life needs warmth, comfort and love – things that YOU can give him through a long-distance adoption.

For Tinu to be properly cared for, he needs:

  • A heated paddock and fresh straw;
  • Special food for his age and needs;
  • Treatments for his fragile health.

Long-distance adoption is a wonderful way to help Tinu live out his old age in peace and dignity.

HOW DOES SPONSORSHIP WORK?

Sponsoring Tinu is easy

1.

Set-up your sponsorship

Tell us a little about you, choose your monthly amount and confirm your sponsorship with your first payment. After that, it’s automatic, nothing more for you to do.

2.

Receive updates

Once your sponsorship begins, we'll send you a welcome email with your sponsorship certificate. Every month, you'll receive updates and photos, so you can see how Tinu is doing and the difference your support is making.

3.

Manage your sponsorship

You can manage your donation by accessing the Donor Portal from the emails confirming your monthly payment. You can edit or cancel your sponsorship anytime.

Prefer to make a one-off gift?

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Tinu.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Tinu. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Tinu need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Tinu to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
