When we say we rescue dogs in traumatizing situations, we never mean just to get them out of those situations.
Dogs with various forms of post-traumatic stress are introduced to the Messengers of Hope training and desensitization program. This greatly increases their chances of adoption and some have even taken that step after working with Robert and Iulia.
Pictured is Maronică. He grew up tormented, chained and isolated from the people he would have needed affection and socialization from. Now he’s very afraid of people, but he’s a warm and harmless little wimp, never bites. Robert has taken the first steps in getting close to him and, with patience and love, will be able to make him a dog again.
Until then, it would help Maronica to be adopted from a distance.
