Goldie

Many of the puppies who end up on the streets, especially in rural areas, gather around gas stations. They are invisible to most of us. They survive on scraps, often in the cold, with the fragile hope that tomorrow might be a little kinder.

Goldie is one of them: a small-sized female dog, extremely weak, who gave birth to six puppies at a gas station in rural Romania, in the middle of a brutal winter freeze. They were only a few days old. No shelter. No safety. Just her.

Despite the cold and complete exhaustion, Goldie did the impossible: she kept her puppies alive. She warmed them, protected them, and fed them as best as she could. Today, the puppies are around two weeks old, and Goldie can no longer support nursing on her own. She urgently needs help to be able to raise them.

At Speranța Shelter, Goldie and her puppies are finally safe from the cold. They now have peace, security, and a chance at life. But their journey has only just begun. They need special food, supplements, puppy formula, medical care, and time for this brave mother to recover.

Goldie fulfilled her duty to the very end. She gave everything she had.

Now it’s our turn. Every donation means another chance for her and the six puppies who miraculously survived thanks to a mother’s love.

Goldie deserves not only to live, but one day, to be loved the way she has always known how to love.

Through a monthly donation you can remotely adopt one of Speranta’s dogs and help pay for their food, shelter and medical care.

The amount is of your choosing and you, or the lucky person you adopted the dog for, will receive regular updates and pictures.
