Laleaua is proof that beauty doesn’t need bright colors. With her sleek black coat and eyes that tell a story all on their own, she’s one of those elegant dogs quietly waiting for someone to notice her.
Young, affectionate, and ready for a new life, Laleaua isn’t dreaming of anything complicated. She just wants a family to love her and take her home. Come meet her at Speranța Shelter and let her show you that black is, in fact, the most beautiful color.

Tell us a little about you, choose how much you'd like to give each month and for how long (minimum 3 months), then confirm with your first payment. After that, it's automatic, nothing more for you to do.
Once your sponsorship begins, we'll send you a welcome email followed by regular updates and photos, so you can see how Laleaua is doing and the difference your support is making.
If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Laleaua.
Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.
Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Laleaua. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.
Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.
Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.
Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.
Sponsorship allows dogs like Laleaua to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
For more than 20 years, Speranța Shelter has been rescuing, treating and caring for abandoned dogs in Romania.
Today, more than 500 dogs rely on us every day for food, medical treatment, rehabilitation and a safe place to live while they wait for a forever home.
Every sponsorship helps us continue this work.
