Freddie's story

Freddie may have three legs, but he has more enthusiasm for life than most dogs with four!

Big, playful and bursting with personality, Freddie is one of Speranța’s happiest residents. He loves people, attention and every opportunity to run around and have fun.

But despite his wonderful personality, Freddie is often overlooked because of his disability. As a three-legged dog, he needs extra care and attention to stay healthy and enjoy life to the fullest.

Freddie doesn’t let his disability stop him from loving life, and we want to make sure it stays that way.

By sponsoring Freddie, you can help provide the veterinary care, support and everyday comforts he needs.

Become Freddie’s sponsor and help keep that wonderful spirit shining!

HOW DOES SPONSORSHIP WORK?

Sponsoring Freddie is easy

1.

Set-up your sponsorship

Tell us a little about you, choose your monthly amount and confirm your sponsorship with your first payment. After that, it’s automatic, nothing more for you to do.

2.

Receive updates

Once your sponsorship begins, we'll send you a welcome email with your sponsorship certificate. Every month, you'll receive updates and photos, so you can see how Freddie is doing and the difference your support is making.

3.

Manage your sponsorship

You can manage your donation by accessing the Donor Portal from the emails confirming your monthly payment. You can edit or cancel your sponsorship anytime.

Prefer to make a one-off gift?

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Freddie.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Freddie. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Freddie need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Freddie to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.
