Atila & Athina's story

Together, just as they have always been.

After their own puppies found loving families, these two Dalmatians became parents to other puppies who arrived at the shelter. Sensitive and vulnerable, yet young and playful, Atila and Athina share a special bond: they seek each other out, support one another and feel safe by each other’s side.

That’s why they are available for adoption only as a pair. Both have been neutered and are ready to leave shelter life behind and become part of a family of their own.

Until they find their forever home, Atila and Athina can be adopted from a distance, helping us provide the food, care and everything else they need while they wait for their special people.

 

HOW DOES SPONSORSHIP WORK?

Sponsoring Atila & Athina is easy

Set-up your sponsorship

Tell us a little about you, choose your monthly amount and confirm your sponsorship with your first payment. After that, it’s automatic, nothing more for you to do.

Receive updates

Once your sponsorship begins, we'll send you a welcome email followed by regular updates and photos, so you can see how Atila & Athina is doing and the difference your support is making.

3.

Manage your sponsorship

You can manage your donation by accessing the Donor Portal from the emails confirming your monthly payment. You can edit or cancel your sponsorship anytime.

If you’d rather make a single contribution instead of sponsoring monthly, you can make a one-off donation to support Atila & Athina.

Your gift will help cover the cost of food, veterinary care, shelter and everything else they need throughout the year.

Unlike monthly sponsorship, this option does not include regular updates or a dedicated sponsorship relationship with Atila & Athina. It’s simply another meaningful way to help provide the care they deserve.

Why dogs like Atila & Athina need sponsors

Every year, thousands of dogs are abandoned on the streets of Romania.

Many eventually arrive at Speranța Shelter after suffering neglect, illness or abuse. While we work tirelessly to find every dog a loving home, some simply wait much longer than others.

Older dogs, dogs with disabilities, and those carrying emotional scars are often overlooked despite having so much love to give.

Sponsorship allows dogs like Atila & Athina to receive everything they need for as long as they’re with us. It also helps us continue rescuing the next stray dog with nowhere else to go.

For more than 20 years, Speranța Shelter has been rescuing, treating and caring for abandoned dogs in Romania.

Today, more than 500 dogs rely on us every day for food, medical treatment, rehabilitation and a safe place to live while they wait for a forever home.
